S - The Secret by Rhonda Byrne

I just finished reading this book in the wee hours of this morning. I purchased the book after seeing the movie about a month ago. If you haven't read this book, you should and if you have, you should read it again. It is AMAZING !

I have been applying the Secret now for a few days and it is INCREDIBLE the things that are happening in my life. I am soo amazed that I think I will start a journal documenting how the Secret works in my life and really, all the Secret is about is looking at eternal truths in a different light and broken down and explained a little.

I will come back here later and go into a bit more detail about a few things I have experienced that I feel I can contribute to applying the Secret in my life.

S - The focus for now

Today is officially day 1 for me though I did get a headstart on a goal last night. I have chosen to focus on three goals for now- personal daily scripture study, taking my meds daily for my anxiety, and tracking spending.

Last night I started Day 1 for my scripture study. I am following a simple "study guide" persay, that encourages me to read the same verse or passage of scripture daily for a week. I started doing so last night & also did so this morning.

I also took my meds for my anxiety this morning.

I will continue to hold myself accountable in these two areas by commenting on this post.

R - Where to start?

So, after some thought, there are several things that I think are important for me to start immediately. But, because I don't want to get overwhelmed, while I am going to try to work on a couple things, but i will focus on doing ONE thing well.

This week, I've decided that I need to work on reading my scriptures everyday. Even if it's only a couple minutes, I need to take that time and DO it! The best way for me to be accountable for this is to post about it daily. I have started a blog here so I can post what I've read and what it means to me. Some days will be more meaningful that others, but hopefully this will help me build the habit of daily studying the scriptures for the meaning that they hold for me.

The other things that I think are important for me to work on, but won't be my focus just yet are: daily prayer, watching my diet and beginning to track my spending.

Just a rundown of how R & S are gonna do this

R & S are gonna share their goals and then pick a few specific goals to work on before we mve on to another one. The idea is not to overwhelm ourselves or become discouraged. We will share how often we will "report back" & hold each other accountable for each specific goal. We will hopefully also have a specific outline (plan) in place to show the steps we will take to reach our goals.

Again, the more, the merrier.

R - And a little about me

I am almost exactly 6 months older than my dear friend Sally, so that means I've already passed that dreaded 3-0 mark. I am a mom to four (mostly) fabulous children. AC is 4 1/2 and is the sweetest and most sensitive little man. HT is 2 1/4 and as fiesty and fun as possible. LS and AR are twin girls born 4 1/2 months ago. LS is like AC and AR is like HT already. My husband D and I have/will be celebrating the 7th anniversary in both August and December of this year.

With all this fun at home, I need a little help to stay only slightly insane, so I'm hoping this blog will help me stay just this side of the line. I'm currently trying to convince D that we need to move from our 2000 sqft house into a 240 ft travel trailer and travel the country road-schooling our little 'uns and seeing the world.

S - Bits & Pieces of Me

For those of you who don't know me but wanna follow our journey & join the fun; here is just a bit about me. I am a nearly 30 yr old (gasp !) mom to the most amazing little boy & little girl ever; even when they do drive me batty. My son is 5 and obsessed with animals & girls. My daughter is 3 and our drama queen/daddy's girl. My husband & I celebrated 9 years of wedded insanity in June. I am slightly addicted to the internet & FB, definately to chocolate, and consider myself extremely blessed to have such a cool BFF to share this blog with. I am also a business owner, homeschooling mom wanna-be, and world traveler wanna-be.

This blog

This blog is for Sally and me (and anyone who wants to join) to be accountable for our lives. We have goals that we would like to achieve, like daily scripture study, prayers and money management.
